- 1/2 bunch celery
- 2-3 apples (Granny Smith)
- 1 cucumber
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 small piece of ginger
Preparation:
To make a refreshing and healthy celery juice, you first need a fresh celery stalk, a cucumber and the apples. We like to use just half a bunch of celery and 3 apples, but if you are used to the taste, you can use more celery and/or fewer apples. Start by washing the celery stalks thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Then, trim the ends of the celery stalks and remove the leaves, as these can make the juice bitter.
This is particularly easy with a high-quality Damascus knife that impresses with its sharpness and precision. We use our kitchen knife for this: Santoku - KIYOSHI . However, if you feel more comfortable with a smaller knife, we recommend one of our JAPANCUT all-purpose knives . You will also find the right selection for you in our online shop.
Cut the celery sticks and cucumber into pieces about two inches long so they fit better in the juicer. Then remove the core of the apple and cut it into thin slices, as well as the ginger. You can peel the ginger if you want, but since you're putting it in the juicer, it should do it for you.
Add the ingredients (except the lemon) to the juicer one at a time and collect the juice in a container. If you don't have a juicer, you can also use a high-speed blender. In this case, add the ingredients to the blender with a little water and blend until smooth. You can then strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the fibers.
Once the juice has drained, you can squeeze a little lemon juice and add it to the finished celery juice according to your taste. The celery juice should be served immediately to preserve maximum freshness and health benefits. It is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, promotes digestion and hydrates the body naturally. Enjoy this healthy juice as a refreshing drink in the morning or as an invigorating "snack" between meals.
